Bioinformatics team leader, FIMM, Helsinki
FIMM is actively involved in human genome and transcriptome sequencing to identify causes of
diseases, targets for drugs and to facilitate personalized medicine. We are a primary site for ”nextgen” sequencing (NGS) in Finland. We are looking for a leader of the NGS data analysis team
responsible for the development and maintenance of automated analysis pipelines as well as their
application in the analysis of human genome sequencing data. In addition, the person will be responsible for hands-on development and application of the pipeline for analysing the RNA sequencing data. The post offers ample opportunities for career advancement in a cutting-edge
international and multidisciplinary environment. The candidate will collaborate with different research groups, participate in research projects, and gain authorships in publications and opportunities to raise funding for their own projects.

Postdoctoral position in 3D biological image analysis, BRC Szeged
The Horvath Lab has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher with a background in image analysis or machine learning to work on cutting edge problems in 3D high-content image analysis of cell morphology. The lab is newly established at the Biology Research Centre (BRC) Szeged, Hungary. The main focus of the group is to develop novel image analysis and machine learning algorithms applied to large-scale microscopic image-based data to i) improve the accuracy of analysis, ii) gain new insights into the biology and evolution of cellular morphology, and iii) ask fewer and more intelligent questions from human experts.

Bio-image Processing Specialist, CNIC Spain
A position is open at the image analysis group based at the Cellomics Unit (CNIC). The image analysis group focuses on the development and validation of novel analysis methods for images ranging from molecular/cellular to tissue/organ resolution for a broad range of biological imaging applications. Modelling and simulations of processes within cells and organs for understanding biological processes is a particular area of applications that needs to be expanded within this group. Specific topics include 2D and 3D image analysis and segmentation, machine learning, 3D/4D modelling, reconstruction and tracking, and the design of decision support systems for High Content Screening (HCS). Key to the success of the unit is close cooperation with biological partners.

Senior Scientist Bioscience, AstraZeneca
In the pharmaceutical industry, there is a clear drive to improve the clinical predictivity of compound screening and profiling assays used in the drug discovery process. High content biology provides a unique means to integrate disease-relevant cell screening early in drug discovery through combining cellular imaging of complex biological systems with the efficiency of high-throughput techniques.
